Connecting tenants with letting agents and landlords

For letting agents, matching tenants to property is a bit like running a dating agency - not only do you have to satisfy the owner, but in shared accommodation you also need to ensure the new lodger is a good fit with existing tenants.

With this in mind we have created the new Tenant/ Lodger profiles. Basically, anyone searching for rental property or room share can complete a detailed profile with all the usual information, but with the option to select additional preferences such as special needs (i.e. disabled access, grab rails in bathroom etc.) along with other internal amenities and local community requirements. They will also be able to add education, hobbies, working hours and any additional information specific to them – including an introductory profile video.

Once the profile is created the user can search for property on Linktosale and connect with the agent when they find one that is of interest. The user can set access levels for each piece of information in their profile. This means they can keep all information private, or allow viewings to only those agents they make contact with. They can set certain fields to be visible to all registered members – in which case agents will be able to filter potential candidates when looking for new tenants.

Why is matching important?

It is particularly important for room shares/ lodgers because they are sharing the same internal space and amenities. The more compatible the tenants, and the more shared interests they have, the more likely they will stay and be happy in their new accommodation. Once a tenant has moved in to their new property, they can join their private property workspace here on Linktosale where they are kept up-to-date with news and issues, but can also submit problems and ask questions.

Property workspaces: communicate with tenants, manage maintenance and more

Property managers can create property workspaces to manage communication with tenants and maintenance workers. They can set and allocate tasks, and provide instant updates on progress to all parties. Getting started is simple, once your property workspace has been created, simply invite existing tenants to the workspace for their specific property, along with the owner(s) tradesmen as desired.

Don't forget, you can hold live discussions with one or more tenants in the Group chat - and also use the translator if you need to communicate with multiple people who speak a different language
